Revision of tolerance limits for Iodine and Thiosulfate solution: The current tolerance limits of the solutions are too tight. The tolerance limits should be adjusted to reflect the buret error of +/- 30 µl for a 20 ml buret. The slightly broader tight tolerances (proposed 0.00015 for both solutions to take the buret error into consideration for solution concentration determination) shall be applied when the actual solution concentrations (titer) is not taken into consideration in the Iodine Adsorption Number calculation. It was shown that much broader tolerance limits are acceptable and provide precise results when the actual solution concentration is taken into consideration in the equation to calculate the Iodine Adsorption Number. These broader tolerance limits will be addressed in a different ballot proposal at a later stage.
