    (a) These methods cover the determination of total carbon dioxide, both dissolved and chemically combined, in industrial water. The methods also cover the calculation of the concentrations of carbonic acid, bicarbonate ion, and carbonate ion. Two methods are given, as follows: Sections Referee Method 5 to 12 Non-Referee Method 13 to 20 (b) The referee method provides the maximum accuracy and freedom from interference. The non-referee method requires less apparatus, but is less precise and more liable to interference problems.
