These same operations require the glove to be resistant to cut, puncture, abrasion, petroleum products, mold, fungus, heat, and so forth. No current military or commercial glove meets these needs. A multilayer glove system was conceived and prototypes fabricated and tested in the laboratory and the field. The outer glove has a Flexor™-patterned leather shell, a waterproof/moisture breathable insert, insulation, and a Flexor-patterned fabric lining. The inner glove is of knit construction. A sizing system was developed such that the 5th percentile female through 95th percentile male can be fit with five sizes.
