Revision of D8076-21b Standard Specification for 100 Research Octane Number Test Fuel for Automotive Spark-Ignition Engines

Rationale

This ballot will amend the D8076 standard to allow two additional octane levels, specifically 95 RON and 98 RON, to make this standard more aligned with globally accepted octane levels while enabling reduced carbon intensity fuels to address climate change. The ballot also lowers the allowable lead content in fuels conforming to this specification to meet World Health Organization recommendations to prevent any direct tetra-ethyl lead addition to these fuels. Additionally, the D8076 Work Group wants to make corrections to some of the language in the standard.
