Rationale
This ballot item proposes separating Table 2 into two tables for greater clarity and re-numbering the subsequent table.
The ballot item also includes an edit to the Bend Test Requirements table. The bending pin diameters listed in the table are understood by many to be the maximum allowable bending diameters. Bending around a smaller diameter pin than those specified in the table is a more challenging and conservative bend test. There are instances where manufacturers are not able to bend around pin diameters with the exact dimensions listed in the table. In some cases, a pin with the exact dimensions may not be available, or a pin may be worn and have a smaller diameter than originally designed. The proposed revision adds the word “Maximum” to allow manufacturers to bend around a smaller diameter pin those specified in the table. The superscript B in the table is also corrected to apply to the entire table.
