Revision of F3628-23 Standard Test Method for Measuring the Cooling Energy Provided by Wicking Liquid Moisture and Evaporating It from Clothing Materials Using a Sweating Hot Plate

Rationale

During the development of this standard, a negative was submitted to define a drying time according to when the heat flux was within 5% of the heat flux values obtained at the start of the test. This negative was accepted, but not studied. After the standard obtained approval, it was found that using 5% of the initial value, produced highly erratic drying times. Defining a certain heat flux value provides more consistent drying times.
