Revision of D7566-22a Standard Specification for Aviation Turbine Fuel Containing Synthesized Hydrocarbons
Rationale
This ballot seeks to revise D7566 Table 1 to consolidate the property requirements of Part 2 into Part 1 of the table and in turn eliminate the Part 1 and Part 2 designations. Table 1 was originally divided into two parts to highlight the more stringent requirements of D7566 when this specification was introduced in 2009. However, as more experience is gained with D7566, the need for highlighting the more stringent requirements is no longer necessary, and simplifying the table will reduce possible confusion of the testing requirements as greater numbers of synthetic aviation turbine fuel producers enter the market.
