New Test Method for Determination of Amphibole Minerals by use of Sequential Acid-Base Digestion

1. Scope

No current ASTM Method exists for this laboratory procedure - used almost exclusively for chrysotile asbestos-laden materials that may also have amphibole minerals present. The process digests/removes chrysotile and leaves any amphibole that may be present in a residue which can be analyzed using other ASTM methods.
