press fitting, press joint

Rationale

Consensus standard for copper press fitting installation. There is an existing standard (ASTM B828) for solder joining. Press is now commercially used as an alternative joining method in major plumbing and mechanical codes. This standard can be referenced within those codes for proper installation.

The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
