New Specification for Raw or Calcined Natural Pozzolan for Use in Concrete
1. Scope
This specification covers raw or calcined natural pozzolan, for use in concrete where cementitious or pozzolanic action, or both, is desired, or where other properties normally attributed to natural pozzolans may be desired, or where both objectives are to be achieved.

Rationale
To create a separate standard specifically for natural pozzolans. There is increasing use of natural pozzolans, and most revisions to C618 have primarily been to deal with coal ash. The purpose is to take this first step in creating a natural pozzolan specification with no technical changes. However, it is thought that this will make it easier to propose future revisions because the new standard will not impact on coal ash.
The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
