ASTM WK86732

Revision of C926-23 Standard Specification for Application of Portland Cement-Based Plaster

Rationale

The rationale is three-fold as follows:

1. Section A2.3.2 references “plastic-backed metal plaster base”. This is an antiquated and obsolete term.
2. Section A2.3.2 uses subjective language such as “sparingly scatter nail” and “approved span capability of the plaster base”. These terms are not defined anywhere in the standard or any test report. The proposed change references lath fastening requirements specified in C1063.
3. Section A2.3.3 references a “premanufactured control expansion joint member”. This is confusing, as a control expansion joint member does not exist.
