Keywords

motor vehicle; pet safety; pet safety harness restraint system; safety; pet

Rationale

A pet safety harness restraint system should aid in the reduction of incidents of pet ejection from the vehicle, reduce the potential for secondary impact of the pet with human occupants, offer the pet better restraint than unrestrained pets in a motor vehicle crash, and provide a better opportunity for restraint and control of the animal at the conclusion of the crash.

The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
