Revision of D975-22a Standard Specification for Diesel Fuel

Rationale

A recent change was approved to D6751 that created new low metals grades of D6751 compliant biodiesel. The justification for the change was based on need for these new grades for use in modern compression ignition engines that include aftertreatment systems. D975 does not currently specify what grades of D6751 compliant biodiesel are required for the different grades of No. 1 and No. 2 diesel fuels. Changing D975 to clarify that ULSD grades of diesel fuel require the use of low-metals grades of D7651 compliant biodiesel will align D975 with the rationale that supported the creation of the low-metals grades of biodiesel in D6751.
