ASTM WK85535

Revision of F2374-22 Standard Practice for Design, Manufacture, Operation, and Maintenance of Inflatable Amusement Devices

Rationale

Initially, the requirement for a minimum tensile strength of 36,000 psi was written to prescribe only steel stakes. Recently, the inflatable industry was able to find a durable material (aircraft quality cast aluminum alloy) that can meet all the staking requirements except for the tensile strength. This ballot will allow this material and other similar durable materials to be used for stakes.
