The standard specifies the interior of the permeability cell have a finish of 0.81 µm. It is unclear how users can measure this or what impact this finish has on testing. This ballot is to remove the language from the standard. A negative was found persuasive when this was balloted previously in C01.25 (20-01, Item 001). The negative stated it is conceivable that a roughly drilled interior might be thought acceptable, which would not meet the standard as the plunger must ?t reasonably snugly. This ballot updates the language to specify that the cell should be of smooth bore.
