ASTM International presented its top annual award – the 2025 Award of Merit – to Darla Goeres for her contributions to ASTM’s pesticides, antimicrobials, and alternative control agents committee (E35).
The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. Goeres was recognized for her advocacy for ASTM standards in academia and beyond, her influential work in antimicrobial pesticides, and her advancement of ASTM student engagement.
An ASTM International member since 2000, Goeres has been previously honored by the committee with the Chip Collins Memorial Award (2013) and the Professor of the Year Award (2021).
Goeres works as the coordinator of industrial development at the Center for Biofilm Engineering at Montana State University, a position she has held since 2023. Her career focus includes standardized methods development & validation for growing, treating, sampling, and analyzing biofilm, biological reactor design, and more.
