Evaluating Smart Living Technology Strategies Using the Analytic Network Process

CODEN: JTEVAB

Abstract

Smart living technology (SLT) is one of the most crucial information and communication technology application concerns for government and businesses. Many governments have initiated projects to promote SLT, but the evaluation models for these technologies are deficient and lack proper evaluation guidelines. This paper proposes an analytic network process for evaluating and selecting SLT strategies. It objectively identifies the related policy criteria and prioritizes the alternatives critical to the success of SLT promotion. To demonstrate the validity of this method, Taiwan’s Intelligent Taiwan program is used as an illustrative case. The methodology and experience presented in this study could serve as a reference for policymakers making SLT-related decisions.
