About the Course

The global plastics industry continues to be a dynamic, rapidly growing, and extensively diversified business. The domestic US production capacity of all plastics in 2017 was over 110 billion pounds. Plastics are found in a myriad of applications including packaging, building and construction products, automotive and other types of transportation components, medical and dental devices, and aerospace composites. Each material and fabricated product demands a series of quality control / quality assurance procedures at every stage of the manufacturing process.

This course takes approximately 1 hour to complete.

Audience

The intent of this course is to provide basic information on the testing of plastics. The program is comprised of four courses and geared toward the following audience:

  • Chemist
  • Materials Engineers
  • Technicians
  • Salesmen
  • Purchasing Agents
  • Newly- Appointment Laboratory Supervisors
  • Quality Control Analyst
  • Shop Foremen
  • Any others who may work with test data

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Identify how false facts are generated
  • Recall the ASTM Standards and characteristics of the test methods
  • Recall the importance and types of methods to evaluate test data
  • Recognize the tools for evaluating scatter

Certificate: A certificate is available upon successful completion of the course and an 80% or higher score on the quiz.
