Determination of Kinematic Viscosity of Used Lubricating Oils Using Houillon Viscometer

Abstract

A new method using Houillon viscometer for the determination of kinematic viscosity of lubricating oils is described. The results obtained by this method are statistically equivalent to those obtained by other test methods such as ASTM Test Methods D445 or D7042 for such determinations of kinematic viscosity. The precision of the new method is also similar to those of other test methods for determining kinematic viscosity.
