ASTM Committee D08 on Roofing and Waterproofing was formed in 1905. D08 meets twice a year in June and December, with approximately 85 members attending three days of technical meetings. The Committee, with more than 400 members, currently has jurisdiction over 159 standard test methods, specifications, guides, and practices for roofing and waterproofing materials, products, and systems largely composed of organic materials such as asphalt, coal-tar, polymer modifiers, rubbers, and plastics. This includes allied materials, products and application equipment used in the roofing and waterproofing industries. D08 has 10 technical subcommittees. Symposia are usually conducted in four-year intervals. Interested parties are invited to attend all meetings and symposia.
