Ian Mylrea, director of research and development with Stanhope-Seta, has started his three-year term on the ASTM International board of directors.
ASTM International’s board is made of 25 leaders from a variety of companies, associations, universities, government bodies, and other organizations around the world.
An experienced chemist, Mylrea joined ASTM International in 2010 and currently serves as first secretary for the committee on petroleum products, liquid fuels, and lubricants (D02). He also serves as vice chair for the subcommittee on volatility (D02.08) chairing the section on flammability (D02.08.0B); and is membership secretary for the subcommittee on aviation fuels (D02.J0).
For his contributions to D02, Mylrea has received the Award of Appreciation (2014, 2019); James A. Thomas President’s Leadership Award (2017); and the Award of Excellence (2022, 2023). He is also an active member of the committees on paint and related coatings, materials, and applications (D01) and waste management (D34).
