Consultant Frank Sinibaldi of Stow, Ohio, has been elected chairman of ASTM International Committee E11 on Quality and Statistics.  The committee is made up of more than 250 members responsible for 26 ASTM standards that promote the appropriate use of the principles and methods of statistic and quality control in standards.

A member of ASTM International since 2000, Sinibaldi works on several E11 subcommittees and is also a member of Committee E55 on Manufacture of Pharmaceutical Products. 

Sinibaldi is a consultant in the areas of Lean, Six Sigma, quality management and its strategic roles in business performance and operational excellence, applied statistics and statistical methods, problem solving, and quality control and assurance.  Before beginning his consultancy business in 1998, he worked on corporate-wide implementations of systems and processes related to tools for quality management at various companies, including Champion International Corp., Stamford, Conn., the General Tire and Rubber Co., Akron, Ohio, and American Cyanamid Co., Bound Brook, N.J.

In addition to ASTM International, Sinibaldi is a fellow of the American Society for Quality, where he has been a member since 1977.  He holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, Va., and an M.S. in applied and mathematical statistics from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J.
