ASTM International Honors Sarah Patterson with Plastic Piping Award

The award recognizes grateful acknowledgement of faithful and significant contributions in plastics piping standardization.

ASTM International’s plastic piping systems committee (F17) presented its Frank W. Reinhart and Henry "Butch" Kuhlman Award to Sarah Patterson, CEO and owner of PATTS., LLC.

The award recognizes grateful acknowledgement of faithful and significant contributions in furthering the cause of sound and effective plastics piping standardization as exemplified by Frank W. Reinhart and Henry W. Kuhlman, charter members of committee F17.

Patterson’s career in plastic pipes and fittings has focused on engineering, manufacturing, new business development, and instructional design. In addition to ASTM, she’s been involved with the American Gas Association (AGA), NSF Plastics Industry Forum and JV Committee, ASME, and more.

An ASTM International member since 2009, Patterson has also been awarded with the ASTM nondestructive testing committee (E07) 10-Year Service Recognition Award (2025), and three F17 Awards of Appreciation (2016, 2021, 2022).

Patterson earned her bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Kansas State University in 2000.
