ASTM International has launched ASTM-PEER®, a program providing expert review for Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) reports.
In the field of environmental due diligence, ASTM E1527 is a leading practice for the pre-acquisition ESA process. ASTM-PEER will serve as the only peer review program backed by the developer of the standard.
“ASTM-PEER is built on feedback from our training courses on E1527, which shows a clear desire for guidance from ASTM experts, such as sample reports,” says Brittney Gibson, certification manager at ASTM. “Given the high costs involved in assembling these reports just once, the assurance that they are clear, consistent, and conformant to E1527 carries significant value.”
The program will provide neutrality, independence, and high quality of reports for government and tribal officials, attorneys, environmental professionals, real estate developers, and many others.
