ASTM Committee F25 on Ships and Marine Technology was formed in 1978. F25 meets twice a year, usually in May and December, with about 50 members attending two days of technical meetings including a seminar on relevant topics in the Maritime industry. The Committee, with a current membership of approximately 200, has jurisdiction over 170 standards, published in the Annual book of ASTM Standards, Volume 01.07. F25 has 8 technical subcommittees that maintain these standards. Information on this subcommittee structure and F25's portfolio of approved standards and Work Items under construction are available from the List of Subcommittees, Standards and Work Items below. These standards have and continue to play a preeminent role in all aspects important to the design, construction, operation, and repair of marine vessels, structures, systems, equipment and materials.
