Registration is now open for the Workshop on Fostering a Circular Economy of Manufacturing Materials, to be held virtually April 20-21, 2022. The workshop is being organized by ASTM International’s sustainability committee (E60).
The workshop will provide a forum to identify standards opportunities to foster a circular economy in discarded materials from manufacturing operations, as opposed to consumer waste generation or decommissioning of the facilities.
The objective of the workshop is to develop a roadmap for ASTM technical standards to support the formation and engagement of manufacturers in a circular economy.
Topics will include:
- Vision for a circular economy focusing on discarded materials from manufacturing;
- Review of current manufacturing measurement practices supporting circularity;
- Review of existing and ongoing supporting standards activities;
- Success stories from industry participants on injecting circularity into manufacturing operations; and
- Facilitated brainstorming and discussion of standards needs and gaps.
