ASTM International’s global cooperation staff has announced the addition of Fouad Yazbeck as a consultant to represent ASTM in the Middle East and North Africa.
Yazbeck’s part-time consultancy will involve advising ASTM based on developments in the MENA region and maintaining relationships with national standards bodies, trade associations, and more on behalf of the organization.
“We are excited about Fouad joining our team and contributing to our mission of promoting the use and application of ASTM International standards across the MENA region,” says Jim Olshefsky, ASTM’s head of global outreach. “His role will be pivotal in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, providing expert guidance, and ensuring the successful adoption of our standards.”
Yazbeck joins ASTM with over twenty-five years of experience, focused primarily in the concrete industry. Most recently, after three years at Unimix (Universal Concrete Products, Dubai, UAE), he founded 360 TANGENT Engineering Consultancy in 2020. Based in Abu Dhabi, 360 TANGENT specializes in helping concrete producers and clients increase service life and sustainability of projects.
“I am thrilled to join ASTM as a part-time consultant, and I look forward to engaging with all interested parties throughout the MENA region to promote the use of ASTM standards and better understand the local needs,” says Yazbeck. “I believe that fostering strong relationships and collaborating with industry leaders, local standard bodies, and other stakeholders will ensure that our standards support the unique requirements and aspirations of the region. Together, we can advance the implementation of high-quality standards that drive innovation, safety, and sustainability.”
