Mark Niemuth, Ph.D., associate III for Wiss, Janney, Elstner in Northbrook, Illinois, USA was honored with the Bryant Mather Award by ASTM International’s committee on cement (C01). 

An ASTM International member since 2006, Niemuth was recognized for his role in promoting substantial revisions to an ASTM guide for approximating the ideal amount of sulfur trioxide in hydraulic cement. 

Niemuth has served in his current position since 2016, having previously served as an associate technical sales representative, a technical services engineer, and a senior product specialist with Lafarge. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Greenville College, and both a master’s degree and a doctorate degree in civil engineering from Purdue University. 

In addition to ASTM International, Niemuth is a member of the American Concrete Institute.
