ASTM International has launched a free introductory eLearning course on robotics standards. This new offering intends to bridge the gap for emerging robotics professionals into understanding the role of standards in the field.
The course’s five modules include:
In total, the course features everything from case studies to safety overviews to explorations of what future robotics standards will entail. Learners complete review questions and can complete an online quiz to receive a digital badge through which they can share their achievement.
“The online and free course will give everyone a baseline of knowledge to start from,” says Aaron Prather, director of robotics and autonomous systems programs at ASTM International. “Our goal is to fill a gap with students and young roboticists entering the field and give them a way to understand what the key standards are and why they are there.”
Interested schools and organizations may securely incorporate this online course into their learning management systems by working with the ASTM OnDemand Solutions team. This allows organizations to use the training tool in their own systems for convenient assignment and reporting. As an added feature, the course will automatically update for all learners when the course is revised. This course is the latest addition to ASTM International’s extensive catalog of free and subscription-based online training on standards designed to meet industry needs.
