Papers are invited for ASTM International’s Symposium on Advancements in Building Insulation for Holistic Energy Benefits and Decarbonization, to be held Oct. 27-28, 2027, in New Orleans, LA, USA. The event is sponsored by ASTM International’s thermal insulation committee (C16) and will be held in conjunction with the committees’ standards development meetings.
The symposium aims to discuss current research ideas on building insulation materials and how they can leverage technological advancements in non-insulation areas to support cost-effective decarbonization when implemented in buildings. The intent will be to generate insights on how to increase efficiency and effectiveness of decarbonization efforts by combining technologies that are typically used separately.
This symposium will seek papers and presentations describing how to leverage these advancements together, including emerging technologies such as high-performance HVAC solutions, digital and robotic tools, artificial intelligence, etc.
Topics for the symposium include:
To participate in the symposium, authors must submit a 250 to 300-word preliminary abstract using the online Abstract Submission Portal no later than Aug. 31, 2026.
