ASTM International’s consumer products committee (F15) has presented its Margaret Dana Award to Dorothy Drago, retired proprietor of Drago Expert Services.
Drago was recognized for over 35 years of dedication, participation and promotion of ASTM standards for a wide range of consumer products. The committee’s members expressed appreciation for her deep knowledge, expertise, objectivity, and commitment to safety.
An ASTM International member since 1988, Drago was previously honored in 2011 with the CPSC’s Chairman's Circle of Commendation Award to members of ASTM committee F15.18. In addition to ASTM, Drago was a member of both the American Public Health Association and the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization until 2015.
Drago’s career focus has been injury prevention, and she spent most of her career as a consultant until retiring in 2024. She received her master of public health degree in injury prevention and control from Johns Hopkins University in 1995.
