ASTM International’s temperature measurement committee (E20) presented its 2025 Robert D. Thompson Memorial Award to Daniel Albert, chief engineer at M.I. Cable Technologies Inc.
Daniel was recognized for continuing contributions and dedication to the development of temperature measurement standards, and for effective leadership of subcommittee E20.12 on thermocouples – specifications and E20.98 on long range planning.
A member of ASTM International since 2015, Daniel has over 20 years in the steel manufacturing industry. He accepted his current position in 2015, after previously holding several positions in laboratory management and quality assurance across Alberta and Ontario, CA.
Daniel earned his bachelor of applied science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Ottawa (2002) and his master of business administration degree from Haskayne School of Business (2020).
