Robert M. Fiedler, a Minneapolis-based principal associate and certified packaging engineer with Chainalytics, a recognized global leader in supply chain consulting, analytics and market intelligence, has received the Alfred H. McKinlay Award from ASTM International Committee D10 on Packaging.

The committee recognized Fiedler for his “sustained and productive partnership and leadership” and more than 40 years of service.

An ASTM member since 1971, Fiedler has held several leadership roles on subcommittees and task groups and has been a public advocate of the use of D10 standards throughout his career. Author of the ASTM standard for testing of shipping containers and systems, a benchmark in the industry, Fiedler received ASTM’s highest organizational recognition for contributions to standards activities, the Award of Merit, in 1997.

Prior to joining Chainalytics, Fiedler was business development manager in the Adalis Packaging Solutions Group at H.B. Fuller, and an adjunct professor in the college of engineering at the University of Minnesota.

Fiedler holds his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in packaging, as well as an MBA in food marketing management, from Michigan State University. He is a fellow and honorary life member of the Institute of Packaging Professionals.
