ASTM International announced today that it is a supporting partner of the 4th Arabian Tunneling Conference (ATC 2017), held in conjunction with the 20th Gulf Engineering Forum (GEF 2017), on 21-22 February at the Dubai International Financial Center.
The ATC is a major networking event for tunneling and underground space experts in the Gulf region. This year’s conference will focus on “Advancing Underground Space” and features exhibitions, award programs, a young engineers forum, and more.
“ASTM International is pleased to be a supporting partner of this high-profile global event,” says Nick Ecart, ASTM director of business development for Europe, Middle East, and Africa. “We look forward to working with industry professionals who want to improve quality, safety, and performance using high-quality standards and services.”
ASTM International supports several events in the Gulf region each year, including ADIPEC, ARABLAB, Project Qatar, the Oman Downstream Exhibition & Conference, the Annual Quality Assurance for Sustainable Construction Materials Conference and Workshop, and the Dubai Civil Defence Annual Fire Safety Technology Forum.
In October, ASTM International’s Board of Directors met with hundreds of government officials, businesses, laboratories, students, and others in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi. As part of those events, ASTM International announced that it had reached 100 Memorandums of Understanding with standards bodies worldwide, including many throughout the Gulf region.
