Goodrich and then Uniroyal-Goodrich, for 42 years. At B. F. Goodrich he focused on materials technology and new test method development for polymer degradation, rubber mechanical properties, and new test instruments. Later on he specialized in tire research on treadwear and traction performance. Author of numerous papers related to his field, Veith received the Youden Award in 1994 from the American Statistical Association for the best paper published on interlaboratory testing.
