ASTM International’s Committee on Plastics (D20) has presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Gary Cornell of Q-Lab Corporation in Westlake, Ohio, U.S.A. The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for individual contributions to developing standards.

The committee honored Cornell for his significant technical contribution, outstanding service, and leadership. He has been a member of ASTM since 1999, serving as vice-chairman for committee D20. He received the Award of Recognition in 2007, the Outstanding Achievement Award in 2013, and the Award of Excellence in 2014.

Gary is the global manager of standards on quality and calibration at the Q-Lab Corporation where he directs the company’s quality system and oversees standards, calibration, and audits.
