ASTM International has donated $7,500 to the Washington Fire Company No. 1 of Conshohocken to help replace their breathing-air fill station with a much safer and more accurate system.

The new system, SafeStationX2, is built and designed to manage two SCBA cylinders with varying pressures and air storage controls. Once these cylinders are filled using the SafeStationX2, they are used to provide firefighters with high quality and breathable air during emergency service missions. As suddenly expanded high-pressure air can have catastrophic consequences, the system’s cabinet is engineered to contain faulty cylinders and ensure protection for operators. This state-of-the-art equipment is not only more accurate and efficient for firefighters, but it significantly increases their level of safety.

ASTM International actively supports charitable causes in West Conshohocken, Conshohocken and the greater Montgomery County and Philadelphia areas, and has made several donations to Washies and other local fire companies over the years.
