Albert W. Isberner, Jr., of Portage, Wis., received the 2006 J. Ivan Davison Memorial Award from ASTM Committee C12 on Mortars and Grouts for Unit Masonry. The award honors Isberner's service to C12 since joining the committee in 1960. The committee cited Isberner for his research and ASTM technical committee participation, which have significantly advanced mortar and grout technology, development of C12 standards, ASTM International and masonry construction.

An honorary C12 member, Isberner is an ASTM fellow and Award of Merit winner as well as a recipient of the Walter C. Voss Award. Over the years, in addition to C12, he has been affiliated with C01 on Cement, C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates, C11 on Gypsum and Related Building Materials and Systems, C15 on Manufactured Masonry Units and E06 on Performance of Buildings.

Isberner worked in the field of cement during his career, and was a senior research engineer with the Portland Cement Association. He also worked for the American Cement Corp. Isberner graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
