ASTM International’s committee on ships and marine technology (F25) presented the John Nachtsheim Award to Kevin Kuhn of the U.S Coast Guard.
Kuhn was honored for his technical support and expertise in the development of a number of commercial consensus standards in support of the maritime industry.
An ASTM member since 2017, Kuhn, a staff engineer for the U.S Coast Guard, has held his position since 2015. He has previously worked as a student engineer and a marine inspector for the Coast Guard. He holds a bachelor’s degree in naval architecture and marine engineering from the U.S Coast Guard Academy and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of South Carolina.
In addition to ASTM, Kuhn is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering, Society of Naval and Marine Engineers, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
