Lisa Rogers, president of Mycometer Inc. in Tampa, Florida, has received the Award of Merit from ASTM International Committee D22 on Air Quality. 

The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest organizational recognition for individual contributions to standards activities. The committee recognized Rogers’ outstanding dedication to the development of standards for the sampling and analysis of mold. 

Rogers has been an ASTM member since 2006. She chairs Subcommittee D22.08 on Sampling and Analysis of Mold and acts as secretary of D22.01 on Quality Control, D22.91 on Awards, and the Technical Advisory Group to ISO/TC 146 on Air Quality (D22.09). The committee has recognized her past work with two Awards of Appreciation. Rogers works on several other committees in addition to D22, including D01 on Paint and Related Coatings, Materials and Applications; D18 on Soil and Rock; D19 on Water; and G03 on Weathering and Durability.

A graduate of Florida Southern College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Rogers has more than 35 years of experience in the environment and health and safety fields. She has been president of Mycometer, a company that distributes enzyme-based technology for the rapid detection of mold, since 2007. Prior to that she was vice president, commercial, at Sceptor Industries Inc., and branch manager/senior project manager for Clayton Group Services. A noted authority on indoor environmental quality issues (IEQ), Rogers is a frequent industry speaker and has served as a technical consultant and expert witness for IEQ-related cases.

Rogers is a member of several professional associations in addition to ASTM, including the American Industrial Hygiene Association, the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers, American Water Works Association, Environmental Information Association and 
Indoor Air Quality Association.
