ASTM International has won two 2010 Hermes Creative Platinum Awards. The awards were given in recognition of ASTM’s 2008 annual report, “Clarity: Looking Forward with Experience,” and its bimonthly flagship magazine, Standardization News.

The Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs, and emerging technologies. There were over 3,600 entries for the 2010 Hermes Awards, coming from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies, Web-based innovators and freelancers. The Platinum Award is the top Hermes Awards’ honor.

Standardization News keeps ASTM International’s 30,000 members and readers around the world up to date on the standards developing activities of 141 ASTM technical committees. The four-color magazine, which was revamped in 2008, includes feature articles, news of administrative and technical-committee activity, and regular columns that aid members in their standards development work.

“Clarity: Looking Forward with Experience,” ASTM’s 2008 annual report, provides a wide-ranging look at the dynamic activities of ASTM International that year, including the development and maintenance of standards that advance child safety, benefit consumers and contribute to the betterment of the environment.

Hermes Creative Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals, an international organization consisting of marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production and freelance professionals.
