ASTM International Committee D27 on Electrical Insulating Liquids and Gases has honored Randy Stebbins, technical director at S.D. Myers Inc., Tallmadge, Ohio, with the Charles A. Johnson Award for his contributions to standards development.
The Johnson Award is presented to an active member of Committee D27 who exemplifies a strong interest and dedication to the activities of the committee. A member of ASTM International since 1993, Stebbins serves on several D27 subcommittees.
Stebbins held sales and marketing roles at Akzo Chemie America, Sun Environmental Corp. and Volz Environmental Services Inc. prior to joining S.D. Myers in 1991. As technical director, he provides training for technicians, electricians, engineers, and maintenance professionals in transformer and load tap changer testing and maintenance, among other responsibilities.
Outside ASTM International, Stebbins is a member of the American National Standards Institute and CIGRE, the International Council on Large Electric Systems. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Ill., and an MBA from the University of Chicago, Chicago, Ill.
