ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Nassia Tzelepi for her contributions to subcommittee F on manufactured carbon and graphite products within ASTM committee D02.
The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. Tzelepi was recognized for her reliable willingness to assist with any task, whether it be editing technical papers, drafting critical standards, or leading subcommittees.
An ASTM International member since 2010, Tzelepi has previously been honored by the committee with the Award of Appreciation (2014), the President’s Leadership Award (2016), the Award of Excellence (2021), and the Eagle Award (2022).
Tzelepi’s career focus has been on graphite technology, supporting operating reactors, graphite waste management, advanced modular reactors, and more. Currently, she serves as a senior fellow for graphite technology at United Kingdom National Nuclear Laboratory. She received her master of science degree in energy systems and the environment from University of Strathclyde (2000) and became a fellow of the Institute of Physics in 2018.
