Patricia Manzolillo, laboratory director at the U.S. Postal Service, Forensic Laboratory Services, in Dulles, Virginia, has been honored with the ASTM International Forensic Sciences Award.

ASTM Committee E30 on Forensic Sciences noted Manzolillo’s outstanding contributions to the development of ASTM standards since joining the committee in 2003. She served as committee chairman from 2008 to 2014, and currently serves as membership secretary.

Manzolillo specializes in forensic science, forensic document examination and questioned documents. She started at the U.S. Postal Inspection Service as a forensic document examiner in 1996 and has received several promotions since. She assumed her current role in 2009.

Outside ASTM, Manzolillo is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, the American Board of Forensic Document Examiners, the American Society of Crime Lab Directors and the American Society of Questioned Document Examiners.

A graduate of the University of Chicago, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in history, Manzolillo holds a master’s degree in forensic science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Document Examiners.
