Jerome Silagyi, manager of technical services at Lane Enterprises Inc., Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, has received the Kenneth Boedecker Jr. Distinguished Service Award from ASTM International Committee A05 on Metallic-Coated Iron and Steel Products.
The award recognizes exemplary contributions to the success of the committee. A member of ASTM International since 2007, Silagyi also serves on Committees B07 on Light Metals and Alloys, D18 on Soil and Rock and F17 on Plastic Piping Systems in addition to A05.
A licensed civil engineer in the state of Michigan, Silagyi began his professional career in 1993 when he joined National Precast Inc., Roseville, Michigan, as a quality control engineer. The following year, he became operations engineer for Oakland County in Waterford, Michigan, and joined Lane Enterprises in 2007. As manager of technical services, he provides engineering support for the design, construction and maintenance of underground structures, small bridges, retaining walls and buried conduit.
Silagyi is a member of the National Corrugated Steel Pipe Association in addition to ASTM International. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
