Papers are invited for ASTM International’s Symposium on the Impact of Sustainable Technologies and Electrification on Fire Hazards, to be held Jun. 10-11, 2027, in Rosemont, IL, USA. The event is sponsored by ASTM International’s fire standards committee (E05) and will be held in conjunction with the committee’s standards development meetings.

This symposium promises to be a vibrant hub for forward-thinking discussions on how sustainability and electrification are transforming fire safety challenges. As industries embrace greener technologies and electrified systems, the nature of fire hazards is shifting, demanding fresh strategies and innovative standards. Attendees will explore these evolving risks, gain actionable insights from leading experts, and help shape the next generation of fire protection protocols.

• Electrification Fire Hazards: Examine the unique risks posed by electric vehicles, large-scale battery storage, and renewable energy systems.

To participate in the symposium, authors must submit a 250 to 300-word preliminary abstract using the online Abstract Submission Portal no later than Aug. 14, 2026.
