Li Lin, Ph.D., a research associate at DuPont's Marshall Research and Development Lab. in Philadelphia, Pa., has been honored with the 2005 William T. Pearce Award by ASTM International Committee D01 on Paint and Related Coatings, Materials and Applications. The award recognizes Lin's outstanding contributions to the science of testing paint and paint-related materials.
Lin, who became an ASTM International member this year, lives in Wallingford, Pa.
Micro-mechanics, mechanical behavior of materials, and materials such as coatings and fibers are the subject of Lin's work. He has been with Marshall Lab. since 1993, when he joined the staff as a research engineer, and he assumed his current position with the laboratory in May of this year.
Lin holds a B.S. from Tianjin College of Textile Technology, an M.S. from Northeastern University, and a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, all in the area of mechanical engineering.
