Students in the three-year-old pre-kindergarten class at Conshohocken Catholic Early Childhood Center are participating in an outreach nature program courtesy of ASTM International and the Riverbend Environmental Education Center in Gladwyne, Pa.
The program is part of Riverbend’s Outreach to Children/Access to Nature Program, a six-week series held at the school. It includes 30-minute lessons that provide meaningful and fun hands-on science experiences to enrich young minds with nature at an early age.
ASTM International, based in West Conshohocken, sponsors several Riverbend education programs every year for local elementary schools in the Colonial, Norristown and Upper Merion school districts.
In the photo, Kelly Myers, Riverbend Camp Coordinator, shows off Terry the tarantula to Tim Brooke, Vice President, Certification, Training and Proficiency Testing, ASTM International, and the Conshohocken Catholic pre-schoolers as part of the “Animal Kingdom” lesson on March 20.
