ASTM International Committee E07 on Nondestructive Testing has honored Trey Gordon, Ph.D., manager, 777X M&P quality, in Boeing Research & Technology at The Boeing Co. in Seattle, Washington, with the Charles W. Briggs Award.

The Briggs Award is presented in recognition of continuous and outstanding contributions to the standards development work of E07 through its subcommittees, sections and task groups. An ASTM member since 2005, Gordon chairs the E07 Subcommittee on Radiology (X and Gamma Method).

Gordon joined Boeing as an NDE scientist in 2007 and was promoted to manager in 2012. Prior to that he was NDE scientist at GE Global Research in Niskayuna, New York, and X-ray imaging engineer at GE Medical Systems in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

In addition to ASTM, Gordon is a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and the American Society of Nondestructive Testing. He earned his doctoral and master’s degrees in applied physics from Stanford University, and also holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
