Consultant Rob Haddock of the Metal Roof Advisory Group Ltd. and Metal Roof Innovations Ltd. in Colorado Springs, Colorado, has received the Carl G. Cash Award from ASTM International Committee D08 on Roofing and Waterproofing.

The committee noted Haddock’s “distinguished research contributions, outstanding publications, dedication and leadership to advancing building envelope technology, and particularly the performance of metal roofing systems.” He has served on ASTM Committee E06 on Performance of Buildings since 1990.

Haddock is the owner of two companies related to the metal roofing industry. Metal Roof Innovations Ltd., which he founded in 1993, produces specialty products for the metal claddings industries, while his consulting company Metal Roof Advisory Group Ltd. (founded in 1989) serves various constituents of the metal construction industry, both domestic and foreign. His previous company, Seven States Steel Inc., was the largest pre-engineered metal building and metal roofing contractor in the Rocky Mountain area from 1980 to 1990. The company successfully completed more than 500 projects in 36 states from coast to coast, and the Gulf to Canada.

An adjunct faculty member in the School of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Haddock holds more than 30 domestic and international patents. He is a member of several groups in addition to ASTM, including the American Society of Civil Engineers; American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers; Construction Specifications Institute; Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association; Metal Building Manufacturers Association; Metal Initiative; and the National Roofing Contractors Association. He is also a lifetime honorary executive member of the Metal Construction Association, which presented him with the 2015 Larry Swaney Award for unselfish contributions toward the advancement of the metal construction industry.
